This week's episode of the Creative Mom Podcast is live... as you'll see... I tend to take comments a bit too personally, I guess! (It's true.) But... the moment... and my response to that moment... did make me think a bit... and so, in EP 68, I share it will all of you. Too often, we think we are alone... and, often, we are not!
In pulling the link for the Center Square Hat (from Knitty), I noticed the new lace pattern on the cover of the current issue. It's called "Muir" -- and isn't is beautiful? I have not made a rectangular lace project (or stole). But this one is very nice - I'm so happy to have happened by it this morning! You should go and read her intro/description, too. Very beautifully written. The lace work is so open and airy here... she refers to it as mesh... I may have just the yarn... but... first... all those holiday things to finish up. I'd really like to just dump them all and just sit... and knit lace... at this point!

The flowers, below, are stunning, Amy! Wonderful shot!
And the comment White Mohawk made? I totally got that. Even BEFORE you mentioned your own reaction to it, I had the same reaction. Do you wish you could have come up with some sort of "advice" for him as well as a wonderful, snappy comeback? Oh I do wish I could think on my feet like that, but we do need to be grownups, now, don't we? :) I thought you did mighty fine in your silence and your eventual conversation. But how interesting that he should assume to know more than you... Maybe it was true... maybe it was not... but to assume? Yes, as I said, I totally got that!
The Muir stole/scarf is my next non-sock project! I love it and am really looking forward to all the great scarves and stoles I'll be needing soon!
also, I posted a photo of a hummingbird I captured on "film" in Pescadero this past week.
Lace! That sounds so beyond me! I can't wait to see picts. Do we have to wait until after the holidays? I like this series of car shots! this is a good one. You little guy loves his shades. ;)
Hey, I love the new shot of you in the car. Someone's getting a little more comfy infront of the camera. Is it because we all are like old buddies through the cmp?
By the way, I've only crocheted as a child, never knit. And I'm starting to get a little urge to try it from listening. Is it expensive to try out? The needle thingys and the yarn?
