When I walked up the hill to school this afternoon, I saw this wonderful groundcover of golden leaves and wished I had my camera in hand. I waited out the afternoon dodge ball and tether ball games, and we left just as it started to rain. I got my camera from the car and went back up the hill to snap a photo. It was better timing because all the cars had cleared out. But, as the raindrops came faster and faster, I gave up on the shot. As it turned out, those drops were the opening moments to a deluge that lasted hours. Those leaves will look very different tomorrow!
