Episode 211: Favorite Things

Amy Creative Journey | Pen and Ink | Podcast

Favorite things… mostly basic tools that come to the surface when I think through what I use day to day and most often. My list ended up surprisingly lacking in color! Some years, I think other things would make the list. But when I sat down and made this list, it was all basics that came to mind… things I’ve been using and enjoying this year. My creative wish list would have different things!

I encourage you to make your own list of favorites as you wind down this year. Year over year, these lists probably shift and change in interesting ways.

  1. Lamy Joy (with a shout out to Lamy Safari as well) [white Joy… harder to find!]
  2. Ink samplers from Goulet Pens
  3. Ink refill syringe from Goulet Pens (definitely also check out their cleaning solution)
  4. Composition books
  5. Midori Traveler’s Notebook System (my cover from a few years ago is a wide from ChicSparrow; my current favorite/obsession in cover makers is ImperfectlyPerfekt)
  6. Washi tape
  7. Pilot Uni Alpha-Gel Shaker Mechanical Pencil (comes in hard/soft/medium gel grips; color I have–and confirmed that mine is labeled “hard” but is super squishy)
  8. Kakuno fountain pen (lots of colors out there)
  9. White erasers
  10. Pentel Clic Eraser Grip Retractable Eraser
  11. A great pen bag
  12. Uppercase magazine
  13. Evernote
  14. Stencils (shapes to consider or add to your collection for sketchbooks or planners: circles, circles2, squares, bullet journal stencils)
  15. Creative License
  16. Glue stick
  17. Glass jars and old mugs
  18. Pandora
  19. Thick index cards
  20. Microphone
